The main purpose of our e-zine is to primarily keep you up to date with new and exciting things with our training, but we plan to occasionally mix in other things of interest.

Next...the EXCITING NEWS is that we have lowered the price for our THANKSGIVING WEEK SKILLZ CAMP to $65 (from $85)!!! Here's the info in a nutshell...

We've also added a special guest Coach...Coach David Garcia (former Sac City and Sierra College star), and current YBA AAU Club Coach from 6th thru High School).

Time: 9:30AM – 12:30PM
Ages: Grades 3rd-6th
Cost: $65 per player
Current YBA DAWGS AAU CLUB players receive a $15.00 discount.
Early Registration Deadline: November 16th, 2009
$95 after this date. (NO REGISTRATION ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR)
(Players not guaranteed a camp T-shirt if registered after the 16th.)

Time: 11:00AM – 2:00PM
Ages: Grades 3rd-6th Boys and Girls
Cost: $80 per player

Early Registration Deadline: December 10th, 2009
$90 after this date. (NO REGISTRATION ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR)

As always, this camp will NOT be day care. We will work hard and have fun. There will be fun, awards, challenges and hard work!

Here is a great article to read. I have bought the book this is from (called The Art of a Beautiful Game by Chris Ballard) and started reading it, and it is a PHENOMENAL read! Check it out!!

DRILL IT DOWN!!!! The 3-4 Shell Drill is a great drill to use to teach young kids the concept of help defense. Basically you have 4 players on offense and 3 on defense. The offense moves the ball and the defense shifts to not only cover the ball, but also into good weak side help position. Communication in this drill is the key: "Close out", "Ball", "Help" are all words we use.
